RA Machine is the CNC machine division of R.A. Auto Engineering Works, an engineering company in Kolkata, India, founded in 1989 and building machines since 2008. We make CNC laser and plasma cutting machines, MIG, TIG, MMA and submerged arc welding machines, and cobot and robotic welding systems, and supply them across India and abroad. We are GST registered, hold an Import Export Code for export, and have supplied Indian Railways since 2022 as a preferred vendor for certain safety-critical items. This page covers export details specific to Egypt: manufacturing sectors we serve, shipping terms, power compatibility and the machines we supply there. More about RA Machine

Why India

Documented quality

Egypt sits directly on the Suez Canal shipping corridor used for most Indian exports to the Mediterranean and Europe, so shipments to Egyptian ports add minimal extra transit time.

Competitive pricing

Pricing well below European machine tool brands suits Egyptian buyers managing significant currency and import-cost pressure.

Responsive support

Machines can be configured for Egypt's 380 V 3-phase supply, and English-language documentation suits Egyptian industrial buyers accustomed to European trade relationships.

Logistics & trade ties

A 2.5-hour time difference from India supports convenient same-day scheduling for remote diagnostics and support calls.

Sectors

Egypt's demand for cutting and welding capacity concentrates in a handful of manufacturing sectors, most visibly around Greater Cairo (10th of Ramadan City, Obour) and Ain Sokhna.

Cutting and welding machine demand in Egypt

Egypt has one of the largest and most diversified manufacturing bases in the Middle East and North Africa, with Greater Cairo, Alexandria and the Suez Canal Economic Zone hosting metal fabrication, construction materials and general engineering industries. Egypt's strategic position on the Suez Canal — directly on the shipping route between India and Europe — gives it a natural logistics advantage for importing Indian machinery.

Currency pressure and import restrictions in recent years have made Egyptian buyers highly cost-conscious, and Indian fiber laser and welding machines are increasingly evaluated as a value alternative to expensive European imports, particularly for fabricators serving Egypt's growing construction and industrial sectors.

Shipping terms and logistics

Sea freight from Kolkata or Haldia to Alexandria or Port Said routes directly through the Suez Canal with an indicative transit of 18–25 days, one of the more efficient sea routes from India. CIF delivery is available to your nearest Egyptian port alongside standard FOB Kolkata or Delhi terms. Standard export terms are FOB Kolkata or Delhi / CIF.

Warranty, spares and remote support

Machines carry a 12-month warranty on core systems, backed by remote diagnostic support typically within 4 working hours and stocked wear spares — nozzles, lenses, torch consumables, contact tips and drive rollers — for prompt air-freight dispatch to Egypt. Customised extended warranty available on request.

Export orders are quoted on FOB Kolkata or Delhi / CIF terms, with 70% advance with confirmed order, 30% before shipment.

Currency and regulatory notes

Quotations are issued in US dollars, the standard invoicing currency for Egyptian import transactions given local currency volatility.

Egypt requires registration of imported machinery with relevant authorities in some cases and applies import duty and value-added tax under its customs regime; conformity documentation for your order is confirmed at the quotation stage, and buyers should confirm current requirements and any import licence needs with their customs clearing agent given periodic changes to import controls.
